Triveni

Triveni is a form of composition invented and popularized by Gulzar saab, where a three line poem is complete in itself in the first two lines, and the third line either accentuates or completely changes the perspective in which the first two lines are viewed. Though, this rule is not always followed by Gulzar saab himself and sometimes, the three lines taken together only, make a complete poem.

Here's my first set of Five:

Disha

Raat hamesha, bina poochhey, dhamak aayi khidki se,
Din shareef, roz darwaaze pe dastak deta hai.

Zindagi, tera ghar pachhim kyun hai..!

Bazaar

Duniya ke iss bazaar mein, kangaal yaar tha,
Khudgarz tha, kisson ka uske ooncha daam tha.

Taareef ke saudey ki par, roti achhi bani.

Gustaakhi

Nigaahon se na pilaao tum,
Mishri na gholo...

Aakhiri roza bhi toot jaayega!

Talaab

Pathhar jo maara tha maine talaab mein,
Uski chhintein, tujh par bhi aayin thi..

Par aaj sirf main hi nam hoon, talaab toh sookh chala.

Naam

Mujhse koi naam mera na poochhey,
Mere naam ke maane nikal aayenge.

Koi kahega matlabi, koi be-matlab..!
